Bertie County Schools Headed to National ROADeo in Austin, Texas
Mr. Tajah Winborne, a skilled driver with Bertie County Schools, placed second in the North Carolina State School Bus ROADeo, earning him a coveted spot at the national competition. The ROADeo challenges school bus drivers to demonstrate expert maneuvering, safety protocols, and situational awareness — all the skills that keep students safe every day on the road.
This outstanding achievement marks a proud milestone for our district. Mr. Winborne is the first driver from Bertie County Schools to advance to the national level. "Tajah is an exceptional driver who puts safety first and takes great pride in what he does,” said Bertie County Schools Superintendent Dr. Otis Smallwood. “We are beyond proud of him and can’t wait to see him shine on the national stage.”
The National ROADeo, hosted by the National Association for Pupil Transportation, brings together top drivers from across the United States for a two-day event filled with intense competition and professional excellence.
As Mr. Winborne prepares to represent Bertie County and North Carolina in Austin, we ask our entire community to join us in cheering him on.
