2019 Relay for Life awards presented at last School Board meeting
It is through strong partnerships like that of Relay for Life and our school system that help to bring awareness to great causes, and which help to unite all for a common good. Once again, in 2019 we had 100% school participation!! Let us do it again this year, and raise even more money to fight cancer!
At the School Board meeting on Feb. 12, Relay for Life Chair JoAnn Jordan presented the following awards...
Rising Star Awards
-For Teams that raised from $1,000 to $2,499
Bertie Early College High School
Bertie High School
Bertie Middle School
Aulander Elementary School
-For Teams that raised from $2,500 to $3,499
West Bertie Elementary
-For raising $3,500 or more dollars
WES was in the Top 10 for fundraising efforts at #8.

The school system (and all Relay participants) received commemorative lapel pins for being a national award winner in 2018. Mrs. JoAnn Jordan, Event Chair, encouraged all recipients to proudly wear them on their person.
