Outgoing Board members honored with special reception

The Superintendent and her Executive Assistant present the two outgoing board members with roses and personalized gifts

A special “Farewell Reception” was held in honor of the two outgoing School Board members, just prior to the Nov. 19th Regular Meeting.

Greetings, remarks and presentations were made by the Superintendent, fellow Board members, Kimberly Cooper (Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and Board Clerk), Tracy Gregory (POY), Dyreek Carter (BECHS student), and Sydney David (Aulander Elementary student).

All of this was to honor the service of Ms. Emma Johnson and Mrs. Jo Davis Johnson, whose tenures on the board have come to a close. Ms. Emma Johnson served a total of 16 years on the Board, and Mrs. Jo Johnson served four years.

After the two received their personalized gifts, they were given an opportunity to say a few words to those who were present.

Both expressed that they were gracious for the opportunity to serve our students. They were in complete agreement that being a school board member was both very challenging and very rewarding.

They are now looking forward to rest and rejuvenation, as well as spending more time with loved ones.

Thank you for your service and support! You truly made an impact!
