Windsor Elementary School Partners with the Roanoke/Cashie River

Mrs Gregory and Chicken HIll and chicken

Through the guidance of Bailey Edwards from the Roanoke/Cashie River Center the 5th grade students at Windsor Elementary learned firsthand how muscles, bones and tendons work together to move joints. Students dissected a chicken wing while comparing the anatomy to the human arms. Ms. Bailey was assisted by with Mrs. Tracy Gregory, principal, Mrs. Cheatham, 5th grade science teacher, and Mrs. Celestine Hill, Media Coordinator. Also present for part of the lab was Mrs. Jo Johnson, Bertie County School Board Member. This was the second project done by Windsor Elementary Students and staff in collaboration with the Roanoke/Cashie River Center staff. The first one was a Game Board create by the students based on the trip taken by them to the sound to sea.
