Instructional and Media Center Materials
The Board of Education is committed to providing students with access to the highest quality instructional and supplementary materials, as well as library media center resources. This includes a range of materials such as textbooks, instructional aids and equipment, audiovisual materials, supplementary books and resources, and library resources. To ensure that these resources are up-to-date and relevant, a list of library media center materials will be established for each school level, and it will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
A textbook is defined as set forth in N.C.G.S. § 115C-85: “systematically organized material comprehensive enough to cover the primary objectives outlined in the standard course of study for a grade or course.” Supplementary materials include supplementary textbooks, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and other supplementary materials used for instructional purposes.
