I currently reside in New Bern, NC. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from Elizabeth City State University, my Master’s in English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and my Master’s of School Administration from Fayetteville State University. 

I began my career in education at Parkway Middle School in Kissimmee, Florida as an English and Social Studies teacher.  I taught in Florida for three years.  I returned to North Carolina to work in Beaufort County Schools (P.S. Jones Middle School), Craven County Schools (Grover C. Middle School), and Cumberland County Schools (Westover Middle School) as an English and Social Studies teacher.  Upon the completion of my Master’s degree, I began my administrative career at Anne Chesnutt Middle School in Fayetteville, NC.  I relocated to Craven County to work as an assistant principal in Beaufort County Schools (P.S. Jones Middle School) and Craven County Schools (H.J. Mac Donald Middle School, Havelock High School, and Ben D. Quinn Elementary School). 

As I embark on my 25th year in education, I look forward to the next chapter of my educational journey with Bertie County Schools. As your new Principal, I will work diligently to create and build positive relationships with the students, the staff, and the parents of Bertie Middle School.
