It is my pleasure to serve the West Bertie School community as your School Media Coordinator. Students of all ages get to come to our beautifully renovated West Bertie Elementary School Media Center to enjoy lessons in literature. Our learners range from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5. They have the choice of checking out books, learning to use the Dewey Decimal System, and using digital resources to access literature and nonfiction selections. We have over 7,000 titles for our students to choose from each time they visit. We pride ourselves on  providing the best literacy experiences for all of our students..Active participation in the literacy program is extremely important for elementary students.Our students are also patrons of the North Carolina Digital Kids Public Library.

I have over thirty years of experience in the field of education, having taught elementary grades 1-5, and Middle School grades 6th,7th, and 8th.This is my fifth year working as a School Media Coordinator in Bertie County Schools.I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education,  a Master's Degree in Urban Education, and a Master's Degree in Library Science. My philosophy of education is "Reading is Succeeding!" It gives me great pride to work with a group of talented scholars and readers at West Berie Elementary School.
