Greetings! Welcome to the Culinary Arts Department at Bertie High School! I am Chef April Joyner and it is my privilage and pleasure to have your student in my kitchen. Prior to becoming an educator I worked for years as a food service industry leader.
As a Certified Sous Chef, I personally know what it takes to train and become one of an elite group of chefs. It just shows that if you are determined and believe in yourself, dreams can come true. And, your passion to cook is just the starting place– It’s through persistence, dedication and preparation that our students will take this journey into the culinary industry. I am a proud graduate of Florida Culinary Institute!
