Introduction

Bertie County Schools is committed to finding, keeping, and supporting effective teachers. To this end, a teacher induction program has been designed to reduce the intensity of transition into teaching and to improve teacher effectiveness.  This includes structured, sustained, and intensive staff development and a beginning teacher mentoring program designed to provide job-embedded, on-site coaching for beginning teachers in their first years of teaching.
