Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-Kindergarten
The Bertie County Schools NC Pre-K Program is designed to ensure children are prepared for success in Kindergarten by providing four-year-olds with a child-centered, developmentally appropriate curriculum and experience. Four-year-olds who have completed an application and been identified through a screening process will participate in a full-day program which is free of charge for families.
Exceptional Children's Preschool
The Exceptional Children's Preschool program provides special education and related services for children as outlined by the child's Individual Education Program (IEP). Children can be eligible for these services beginning at age 3. The services can be provided in a variety of settings, depending on the child's special educational needs. The EC Preschool program has special education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who provide special education to children in homes, community preschools, BCS NC Pre-K, special classes, or in a special school.
ALL BCS NC Pre-K classrooms implement the Creative Curriculum along with the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool.
