Rural & Low Income Schools (RLIS)
WHAT IS THE RURAL LOCAL INCOME SCHOOL GRANT:
The Rural Low-Income Schools (RLIS) Grant is a non-competitive federal grant that provides financial assistance to rural school districts. The purpose of the grant is to support programs and activities that help improve student achievement.
Allowable Uses of RLIS Funds
Districts may use RLIS funds to support and enhance:

Parent & Family Engagement Activities

Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs

Title II, Part A – Supporting Effective Instruction

Title III, Part A – Language Instruction for English Learners

Title IV, Part A – Student Support & Academic Achievement
