Policies

The Bertie County Board of Education has contracted with the North Carolina School Boards Association to complete a Board Policy rewrite and customization.  This process has been ongoing during the 2011-2012 school year, and should wrap-up during the 2013-2014 school year.  This process reviews and revises all existing policies for compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as established best practices.

During this revision period, sections of the new policy manual will be posted for public review before being adopted.  These revisions are in the "POLICIES UNDER REVIEW" folder below.  Any interested party is encouraged to review these policies, and submit any recommendations to the Superintendent.

As policies are completed, they will be added to the "New" policy manual, linked below.  As new policies are adopted, they will replace the existing policies, either individually, or as a series.  If a "new" policy has not yet been adopted, the existing policies remain in effect.
