Mr. Dyreek D. Carter,

In-School Suspension Coordinator

Mr. Carter has served the students of Bertie Middle School since 2015. He began working with the 21st Century Community Learning Centers afterschool program as a tutor and later became a part of the program's clerical staff. Currently, Mr. Carter operates as the school's In-School Suspension Coordinator and Teach for America Ignite Campus Trainer. 

As a Bertie Early College High School graduate, in 2019, Dyreek created his alma mater's school motto: "EXCELLENCE AS A STANDARD... ACHIEVEMENT AS A GOAL... GROWTH AS A MINDSET" 

For the 2022-23 school year, the Bertie County Board of Education recognized Mr. Carter as Bertie County School's Support Staff Employee of the Year.

"Every day, it is my goal to help every student that I encounter to have a sense of hope in their future. There is greater to come, only if students are willing to reach for it!"
